PlanetDS.de: Hi Jools! Can you tell us more about Renegade Kid?

Jools Watsham, Renegade Kid: Gregg Hagrove and I formed Renegade Kid in 2007. Our debut title was „Dementium: The Ward“ for Nintendo DS.

PlanetDS.de: „Dementium“ started off with one hell of an adventure. What can fans expect of part two?

Jools Watsham, Renegade Kid: Our goal with „Dementium II“ was to improve upon everything while still staying true to what made the first game fun. Variety is the single word I would use to describe it. Variety in environments, enemies, audio, and gameplay. We also addressed many of the issues people had with the first game, including the save system, respawning enemies, and lack of story.

PlanetDS.de: Can you tell us more about the Story of „Dementium II“?

Jools Watsham, Renegade Kid: It picks up directly after the events of the first game. Don't worry if you havent played the first game, „Dementium II“'s story stands on its own just fine. As with the first game, I can't say much about the story without spoiling the experience of playing it for yourself. So, I'll just say that the story is more present in this game than the first.

PlanetDS.de: „Dementium“ had many aspects to creep the chills out of players, how were you able to keep up this effect and where you able to improve the frights?

Jools Watsham, Renegade Kid: We try to make everyting that we create for the game have a ceepy tone, and I think that helps set an eerie atmosphere throughout the player's journey. The addition of the other dimension adds a great sense of dread, which I think is quite effective in providing frights. Other than that, I generally think the audio and overall atmosphere we've created in „Dementium II“ just gives you the willies.

PlanetDS.de: Im „Dementium 1“ many players said that the variation of enemy models was pretty low. Did you change this aspect in Dementium II and what new enemies can one expect?

Jools Watsham, Renegade Kid: Yes, as I mentioned earlier, we have added more varieties of enemies both in terms of visual design and gameplay. There are 14 enemies in the game, and four unique boss encounters. One of my favorite enemies is the ROFL enemy, who looks like some sort of mutated sphincter pig. They roll from side to side when you attack them and produce an obnoxious clown-like laugh - they're quite odd! The Chest Maws have returned in an enhanced fashion - looking a little more disturbing than before. I think the enemy cast turned out very well.

PlanetDS.de: Does „Dementium II“ provide any online or multiplayer features?

Jools Watsham, Renegade Kid: No.

PlanetDS.de: Do you have any future projects beyond „Dementium II“? Will we be looking at a Moon sequel as well or will you be providing games to other systems?

Jools Watsham, Renegade Kid: We are working on to new projects. I hope we'll be able to share more information on at least one of them this E3. We're also extremely interested in the new Nintendo 3DS.

PlanetDS.de: If you had to wake up in an zombie horror scenario, which weapon would you most likely be able to pick up?

Jools Watsham, Renegade Kid: I think that „Dementium II“ proves that a high-powered nailgun can be very handy.

PlanetDS.de: Is there anything you would like to tell our readers?

Jools Watsham, Renegade Kid: Go buy „Dementium II“, if you dare!
